Our facilities are suitable for most purposes, from meetings to parties and dance classes. They are available to hire, with all funds going back to support the retention of Pettinain Hall as a community asset (not-for-profit), supported by Sustainable Pettinain.
- community hosted events such as Hogmany, Halloween and Xmas parties,
- for private bookings such as birthday parties and funeral wakes,
- for privately or commercially booked sports and fitness events and crafting workshops
- as a place to discuss key community matters and support social sustainability through for example through participation in the Warmer Space Initiative.
Below are some examples of how the hall has been used. But please get in touch and we will be happy to discuss your requirements. Please email: contact@sustainablepettinain.org.
Main Hall
Pop-up Comedy Club
A perfect venue for a comedy night or other ticketed show. The hall can seat up to 120 people and has a small stage that can be erected.
Burn's Night & Ceilidhs
Using the hall's kitchen facilities, events such as the annual Burn's night supper and ceilidh are a local highlight.
Licensed Bar
Those using the hall can apply for a license to sell or consume alcohol can be sold on the premises. Here an event organised their own DIY bar, setting up tables in the hall as well as using the gantry.
We can offer you help with an application to South Lanarkshire licensing board.
Outdoor community BBQ
During the summer months the car park adjacent to the hall provides the perfect community space for events such as BBQs, or in this case making use of our community pizza ovens.
Pettinain Kirk
Adjacent to the hall is a historic kirk, dating back to the 1700s. We hope in the near future this venue will be open to the public and even available for weddings and other religious ceremonies. Please contact Victoria Collinson from Historic Churches Scotland for more information: victoria@historicchurches.scot
Pettinain Community Questionnaire
Sustainable Pettinain SCIO and Pettinain Community Council are running a questionnaire to help us better serve our wonderful community. We greatly value everyone's input and encourage all residents and those who use the community spaces to take the questionnaire.
